Double Progressive Scoring Explained
With Double or Extreme scoring things can get interesting really quick. The points start out at 2 points per correct pick in round one and double every round after that right up to 16 points for the final four and 32 points for the March Madness champion. A well chosen bracket can really rack up the points quickly and the competition really ends up being among those with at least one team in the final championship basketball game.
While this point system offers high point totals, it really doesn't seem too logical to me as it cuts down the competition pool too easily. I'd like to see more people in the running to the end and overall well chosen bracket win as opposed to one or two lucky picks. Face it, there is skill involved in picking winners in the earlier games. Without following the sport for the entire season it would be really hard to consistently pick winners for the first two rounds of play.
